Tufting Workshop 

Want to learn how to use the tufting gun to create amazing textile art? Join us for an in-person tufting workshop at our Tufting.costudio in Old Town Alexandria, VA!

This hands-on class is designed for beginners and will introduce you to the basics of operating a tufting gun. After a brief instructional session, the majority of the workshop will be dedicated to tracing your design onto the tufting fabric and bringing it to life with tufting.

You’ll work on a 12 x 12-inch piece, using a frame that accommodates this size. Participants will be using a cut pile tufting machines. Yarn, fabric, and glue are included in the cost of the workshop.

Q: What materials and tools do I need for the workshop?

A: For our tufting workshop, we provide all the necessary materials and tools, including a tufting frame, yarn, tufting guns, and backing fabric. You don't need to bring anything except your creativity and enthusiasm!

Q: Do I need any prior experience to join the workshop?

A: No prior experience is required! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced tufting enthusiasts. Our instructors will guide you through each step of the process.

Q: How long does each class session last?

A: Each tufting class session typically lasts around 4 to 5 hours. This time includes instruction, adding your design to the fabric and tufting your piece. 

Q: Can I take my tufted piece home the same day of the class?

A: After you finish tufting your masterpiece, we apply a special glue to seal your work, and it needs at least 48 hours to dry. Once it’s ready, we’ll add the finishing touches and ship your unique creation straight to your doorstep on us! This way, you’ll get a beautifully completed piece.
